Is it really that disgusting to eat on the train?
YES!!!
So this person clearly goes out of his way to find, and photograph, people eating on and around the subway. And I’m not sure that i can say he is wrong in his doing.
I do believe that maybe he goes a little past acceptable, but dam it, he proves a good point. Maybe its just me, but it is disgustingly clear how filthy the subway platforms are at first sight when walking down the stairs. Not only because most of the people that “hang out” down there are dirty, but if you’ve ever been in the subways and looked at the tracks, well, those aren’t really all that clean either. I think that it’s fair to say that New York in general is not a very clean city. So you get a person who spends the day walking around and touching things like doors, stair rails, park benches, yellow cabs, anything around really, they inevitably have some pretty dirty hands. And all these hands end up in the subways. So touching anything in the subway terminals is essentially the same as touching all of New York, and then touching your food. Aside from that, the air in the subway is not circulated, AT ALL, so when that subway comes through the tunnel it picks up the air, and the dirt at the bottom of the tunnel, and throws it around, landing on your burrito. And then you eat that.
So you have fun eating your dirt with a side of rat feces. But at least when you do, Pick up your trash.
See people who do enjoy eating on the train, again, I think maybe this goes a bit far, But i think he is absolutely correct in his actions.
