My song of the day is from a band who achieved chart success during the years of 1975 to 1980. The band consisted of Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille. The magic all started in 1971 when Tennille’s musical (an ecology-themed musical called Mother Earth) moved from San Fransisco to Los Angles and she called Dragon, who at the time had been playing in a backing band for the Beach Boys, to be a replacement keyboardist for the Musical. After the show ended Tennille and Dragon began playing as a Duo in Smoke House Restaurant in Burbank California. During there performance of an early version of their single The Way I Want To Touch You they were picked up by A&M Records where they went off to begin making music, one of which was this song, love Will Keep Us Together, By Capitan and Tennielle. This was the number 1 song in 1975.
