A long day at work, and through out all of it, I couldn’t help but have Neko Case songs blasting through my mind like a freight train on steroids, So for my song of the day, I give you Neko Case.
This song is called, This Tornado Loves You. Recorded for the album, “Middle Cyclone” released in March of 2009. The album was record in Tucson, Brooklyn, Toronto, and Vermont. This is Case’s first solo attempt in nearly 3 years and Case states that it “took a long time.” The nature of the album was intended to, as the title suggests, melt imagery of tornadoes, more specifically, nature, into the lyrics of the songs.
“Thematically Middle Cyclone concerns how Case’s upbringing socialized her to form strong emotional attachments to nature and animals, to the neglect of human relationships, and her reconciling “the fact that I need love”
